These days, it seems like it’s becoming more and more difficult to find and download your favorite tunes. Girl Listening to MusicPrograms like Kazaa, Ares, Morpheus, and even Limewire are becoming obsolete. Most people also find that Bittorent is too time consuming, complicated, and even dangerous (with RIAA lawsuits becoming more and more common). On Tuesday, June 24th, Kanye West fought back against heavy criticism and defended his Bonnaroo performance viaKanye West his blog. In some ways I feel slightly bad for him, just because he has taken so much flak. Here are some of the highlights of what Kanye said in his post:

I am sick of negative people who just sit around trying 2 plot my downfall… Why????

Nobody’s plotting your downfall, Kanye. The fans of Bonnaroo just wanted a good, entertaining, on time performance, and we didn’t get that. We got an egotistical Kanye who strolled onto the stage 2 hours late and didn’t even acknowledge the crowd once. It was bright out halfway through your performance.

So even though the Piet Mondrian edition of the Nike Dunk Low SB’s have been out for a while, I’m still in loveNike Dunk Low SB Piet Mondrian Edition Kicks with them. The simplicity of these Dunks is a characteristic that sets them apart from the herd. Following in the artistic style of Piet Mondrian, these Dunks make use of black, white, yellow, blue, and red in a very minimalistic style. In case you were wondering, Mondrian was a Dutch painter from the early 20th century who helped pioneer a movement known as neoplasticism. Specifically, his painting Composition with Yellow, Blue, and Red is what the shoes are modeled after.

A new mash-up album by Audiobytes for Autobots has taken the internet by storm. Released on May 18th, 2008, the new album entitled simply 2.0 is the brainchild of 21 year old Dashiell Driscoll. The tracks on 2.0 have been characterized as a “dramatic shift towards a cleaner, refined and generally more danceable sound.” Imagine hearing the cartoon Batman theme song mixed with Kelis’ “Milkshake”, Broken Social Scene’s “KC Accidental” superimposed over a hip hop beat, or Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers mashed with Dr. Dre. There are even clips from Jurassic Park and Knight Rider thrown in there. 2.0 can’t adequately be described in words, it has to be listened to. Recently, Jetcomx’s head writer was lucky enough to chat with the man who has opened for artists such as Dead Prez and the RZA.

Today is the longest day of the year. It marks the beginning of summer. It also marks the release of the third installment of Nike’s Greatest Hits summer collection. With its bold safari pattern, the “Keep Rippin Stop Slippin” edition of Air Max Ones definitely sets itself apart from the crowd. Following in the footsteps of the Safari Air Force one, Nike designers decided to don this Air Max One with the same leopard print and supple leather.

We all know that there’s a time and place where it’s acceptable to be fashionably late. Bonnaroo is neither the time nor the place. Kanye West was scheduled to perform at the Bonnaroo Music Festival at 2:15AM Saturday night/Sunday morning on June 14th/15th 2008. His original performance time was pushed back from 8:15PM Saturday night at Which Stage, due to the fact that Kanye requested a later time and a bigger stage to accommodate his critically acclaimed Glow in the Dark tour.
