The Top 10 Music Sites that You Never Knew Existed

These days, it seems like it’s becoming more and more difficult to find and download your favorite tunes.
Programs like Kazaa, Ares, Morpheus, and even Limewire are becoming obsolete. Most people also find that Bittorent is too time consuming, complicated, and even dangerous (with RIAA lawsuits becoming more and more common). It’s time to discover a new, legal way to listen to the latest and greatest music. That’s why we at Jetcomx have compiled this top 10 list.
1. Pandora Radio
Pandora allows you to create channels for your favorite artists. Then, based on the style of that particular artist, it plays new artists that are musically similar. It’s a great way to discover your next favorite band. You can listen to Pandora for as long as you want, but you are limited to 6 song skips per hour.
2. thesixtyone
TheSixtyOne is a very unique music site. The motto of the site is “thesixtyone - a music adventure.” That’s because the entire site is based on a points system. You get points by listening to new songs. It costs points to bump your favorite songs. It’s pretty addictive and a great idea. It’s also one of the top ways to discover new artists.
3. imeem
imeem is the top social music site in the world. It’s also the biggest and most comprehensive music resource out there. It ranks just outside of the top 100 most popular websites in the world. imeem gets over 25 million visits per month and 65,000 new registrations every day. In other words, imeem is really damn popular. No description needed. Just check it out.
4. The Hype Machine
The Hype Machine is a site that scours thousands of music blogs looking for mp3s. Once found, the songs are organized and categorized into The Hype Machine’s database. The Hype Machine was started in 2005 by a Hunter College student. It’s a great source for finding the very latest and hottest indie tracks on the internet.
5. Grooveshark
Grooveshark is a visually stunning music site that allows you to listen to all your favorites for free. The service was started 2 years ago by University of Florida students with one goal in mind - to prevail where the music industry failed. You can discover new music through the active community of users or check out the latest music industry news on the blog. When registered, you can review, recommend, and download music with no restrictions. They even reward you with free songs!
6. Last.fm
Last.fm is like the grandfather of music websites. It’s been around for a really long time (since 2002), believes that things should be simple and straightforward, and is wiser than you. It’s also the world’s second largest social music platform. The site contains millions of different tracks from every type of music imaginable. Last.fm and its crew are based out of London.
7. Deezer
Deezer is a music on demand service that allows you to listen to hundreds of thousands of songs in their catalog. It’s an awesome site to explore and even has a large music community. Deezer is based out of France.
8. Dizzler
Dizzler is yet another free music on demand service. They have a huge library of artists and songs with in-depth artist biographies. You can even find games and videos on Dizzler.
9. Musicovery
Musicovery is a truly awesome site that you have to see with your own eyes. It’s basically an interactive jukebox where you pick your own music based on your current mood. Songs with the same mood are grouped together. After a while, Musicovery is able to personalize a playlist for you. Also, it’s interface is probably the coolest that I have seen.
10. Project Playlist
Project Playlist is another streaming music site. The concept of Project Playlist is to build your ultimate playlist and share it with others. You are then able to share your playlist on other social networking sites like MySpace, Facebook, hi5, Blogger, and so on.
Have an awesome music site that’s not on the list? Comment and let us know.

Thanks you so much ! It’s great blog
Heya thanks for the list. Just about to post something on a similar subject.
FINETUNE.com!!!!!!
Back in the day, http://www.g2p.org (stands for Google 2 Person, a play on P2p [Person 2 Person]) was great for finding mp3s. Now I prefer http://www.beemp3.com. The search function sucks if the name of the song or artist is really generic, but if you’re looking for something specific it’s quite the tool.
Also, much respect to Last.fm and Pandora.
