For the second time in the Mixtape Mondays segment we’ve decided to feature Ratatat. This time around, it’s their second self-released remix album. Previously, it was only available at their live shows. The 14 tracks on Ratatat Remixes Volume 2 include mixes of vocals from a multitude of artists, including Notorious B.I.G., Kanye West, The Game, Ludacris, Memphis Bleek, T.I., Young Buck, Juvenile and Jay-Z. Alright guys, so here’s the deal…here at Jetcomx we have a bunch of nifty merchandise sitting around. We figured that we might as well give it away, so we’ve decided to hold our first ever contest. The person who designs the best banner for Jetcomx will receive a brand new Bonafide Icon NYC Exploited Tee, which normally costs $25. Shipping is on us, of course.

The banner must contain the word ‘jetcomx’
That’s it! Bust out your copy of Photoshop and start designing! Submit your creations to submissions@jetcomx.com. You may submit as many designs as you like. Make sure to include your name along with your submission. All submissions will be posted at the end of this post. Be sure to check back to see other’s designs. The winner will be notified by us. On Thursday September 25, I saw one of the best shows I have seen in a long time. America’s Best Dance Crew the Live Tour came to Boston, and I still cannot get over how much energy the performers brought into the theatre. The decor of the elegant Wang Theatre (typically used for opera and classical performances) provided a stark contrast against the urban dance crews on stage. A three-story metal structure was set up on stage that allowed the dancers and DJ to do their thing. As soon as the show started, the MC for the night immediately told the entire audience to get on their feet. Everyone was excited to be there (myself included) and were cheering and dancing the whole time. I can’t even explain how much better seeing the crews live is than seeing them on TV. All of the stunts and moves were much more dazzling in real life. Both Super Cr3w and Jabbawockeez were huge crowd pleasers and definitely deserved to win their respective seasons. [read more…]
Last week, this stencil piece by graffiti artist Above surfaced outside a bank in Lisbon, Portugal. If you’ve never heard of Above, he’s an eccentric twenty-something artist who travels the world and shares his art. He’s been handcuffed 9 different times. Six times were from police officers in 4 different countries. The other three times were from women in the bedroom. Watch the video. [read more…]
