Here’s the latest from Mr. Cudi — an official music video for Marijuana, a track off of Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager. If you needed any more proof that Kid Cudi loves smoking, look no further. The video, shot and directed by Shia LeBeouf of Transformers fame, gives us a grainy peek into Cudi’s escapades at a party featuring a mariachi band, an Amsterdam coffee shop, the infamous Red Light District, and finally, performing on stage. Canadian indie rock band Broken Social Scene recently performed their rendition of Modest Mouse’s hit 2004 song “The World at Large.” They did it in conjunction with The Voice Project, which is a non-profit that raises money for women in war-ravaged Northern Uganda. The Voice Project works by getting artists to cover other artists songs and continuing one long chain of covers. The artists thus spread the word about the non-profit and advertisers, sponsors, and individuals donate on their site.
The video gives a glimpse into what it’s like to be Broken Social Scene when they’re working in the studio. They definitely put their trademark sound into the Modest Mouse classic. I love the way they can seemingly just mess around on their instruments and create they perfect melody. [read more…]

A new track by French electro duo Justice has been released onto the internet. It was ripped from an upcoming Adidas commercial, which is why there are a few odd sound effects thrown in there. “Civilization” is the first single off of Justice’s upcoming sophomore album.

Donald Glover, aka Childish Gambino, released a 5 track untitled EP this week. Although he’s probably best known as Troy Barnes on NBC’s Community, he’s got a burgeoning rap career and appears to be following in the footsteps of Drake. His straightforward flow is reminiscent of Chiddy Bang. Be sure to check out Freaks and Geeks and My Shine — they’re the two tracks that really showcase Childish Gambino’s raw talent. [read more…]
