Mixtape Mondays: Lil Wayne's Lil Weezyana

This is one of my favorite mixtapes of all time. Originally released in 2006, Lil Weezyana is a classic,Lil Weezyana Mixtape Vol I must-have mixtape that everyone needs to listen to. As usual, Lil Wayne has intense lyrics and an unmistakable flow on every single track. My favorite songs on the mixtape are David Banner (track 3), I Like Dat (track 12), and Pimp C (track 17). On Downtown (track 20) Lil Weezy mixes it up with 1000 Miles by Vanessa Carlton. It makes for an awesome clash. Check it out.

Mixtape Mondays: Wale – The Mixtape About Nothing

Kicking off our new Mixtape Mondays theme is hip-hop’s rising star Wale and his mixtape entitled The MixtapeWale The Mixtape About Nothing About Nothing. Wale (pronouced as WAH-lay) is a Washington, D.C. based hip-hop genious who has been compared to such hip-hop greats as Lil’ Wayne and Lupe Fiasco. On The Mixtape About Nothing, Wale samples clips from the sitcom Seinfeld extensively. Track number 6, The Kramer, samples the now infamous Michael Richards Laugh Factory outburst, in which he repeatedly addressed a group of hecklers as “niggers”. Track 8, The Vacation from Ourselves, features Julia Louis-Dreyfus (aka Elaine) saying,
