Mos Def and The Black Keys' Dan Auerbach

Ohio blues-rock duo The Black Keys are currently hard at work on a hip-hop/rock side project known as Blakroc. The idea for the hybrid project actually came about after rapper Jim Jones and Roc-A-Fella records co-founder Dame Dash approached them. Featured on the upcoming album are some of the biggest names in hip-hop, including Mos Def, Wu-Tang’s RZA & Raekwon, Q-Tip, Ludacris, Pharoahe Monch, and more. They’ve been producing a series of weekly webisodes that have been generating a ton of hype.

Ratatat Remixes Volume 2

For the second time in the Mixtape Mondays segment we’ve decided to feature Ratatat. This time around, it’s their second self-released remix album. Previously, it was only available at their live shows. The 14 tracks on Ratatat Remixes Volume 2 include mixes of vocals from a multitude of artists, including Notorious B.I.G., Kanye West, The Game, Ludacris, Memphis Bleek, T.I., Young Buck, Juvenile and Jay-Z. Several of the tracks feature beats from the 9 Beats set of leaked demos as their backing music. [read more…]
