Snoop Dogg Wiz Khalifa

Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa have been working on a movie together these last few months. Yeah, that’s right, a movie. So, it’s only natural that they collaborate on the official soundtrack as well. They’ve released the first single “That Good” off of their upcoming movie soundtrack, which is untitled at this time.

Snoop and Wiz are no strangers to each other; Snoop collaborated on Wiz’s breakout hit “Black & Yellow,” released in late 2010. On “That Good,” the two rap about their favorite pastimes, smoking trees. Snoop coins themselves “the new Cheech and Chong.” [read more…]

Remix Fridays 6Halloween 2009 has finally arrived. Hopefully by now you have some idea of what your costume is, whether it’s balloon boy, Billy Mays, Patrick Swayze, Kanye with a Hennessy bottle, the Geico money stack with eyes, or zombie Michael Jackson (alright, maybe that’s a little too soon). Or maybe pop culture costumes aren’t for you? Then the classics are always a safe bet. If you’re a guy, it’s usually a pirate/vampire/zombie/mummy/beer keg/sports star/superhero. If you’re a girl it’s usually a sexy _______, where the blank is any occupation ever.

Regardless of your costume, there’s bound to be a plethora of Halloween parties this weekend. Where there are parties, there is music. Here are some good remixes from Chromeo, Passion Pit, Wiz Khalifa, Empire of the Sun, & Death from Above 1979 that will be great for this weekend. Enjoy.

Wiz Khalifa Flight SchoolThis week, I feel like showing some love to the up-and-coming rap genius Wiz Khalifa. Originally hailing from Pittsburgh, the 21-year old Wiz Khalifa has already shared the stage with the likes of Ghostface Killah, Styles P, Lupe Fiasco, Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, Cham, Little Brother, Clipse, Lil Wayne, Young Jeezy, Lil Scrappy, Mario, T.I., Nas, and Rich Boy. Back in 2008, his hit single “Say Yeah” dropped to critical acclaim. I remember I had that track on repeat for days. Khalifa’s version of “Say Yeah” was even mashed-up in the song “Don’t Stop” off of Feed the Animals by Girl Talk. [read more…]
