It’s undeniable…the seventies are back. Pants are starting to look like bell bottoms again and all the floral hippie prints are back in style. I have never been a huge fan of the peace and love fashion era, but I have to admit: I am loving its return. Well, I am not a huge floral fan, but the return of boho has brought back HEADWRAPS.
I can’t get over just how simple these are yet the make such an impact. Just by tying a head wrap around your head, you can take an ordinary outfit to a whole new level.
A simple ribbon will do, or
you can opt to spend a bit on a more elaborate head wrap sold in stores. Stores like Urban Outfitters have elastic headwraps that are a little bit fancier than a simple ribbon, plus you won’t have to worry about tying them. The best one I’ve seen was a half-inch and had intricate turquoise, Native American style beading on the band. The other style sold in stores are basically a fancier style of the classic ribbon. Since you have to tie them, the leftover wrap hangs dow the back of your hair. I personally prefer this style because I can control how tight I want it to be.
There are two ways you can tie a head wrap. Tie it around your forehead “Indian-style” (sorry for being politically incorrect) or around your head as if it was a halo being placed on the crown of your head. Both ways look great, it’s just up to you on how you want to do it. It seriously goes with anything, so even if this goes out of style…I think people can still rock it. Although the headwrap channels a former fashion period, it brings something new and fresh to the table of 2008.
