Good Morning America Hilariously Fails to Censor Green Day’s “Longview”

Green Day

This is one of the funnier things that I’ve seen lately. To kick off Memorial Day Weekend 2009, ABC’s Good Morning America booked Green Day to perform a few of their classic songs. For some reason or another, when Green Day started to play “Longview” the Good Morning America staff forgot to bleep out a couple of Billie Joe Armstrong’s choice words. A couple of S-bombs and F-bombs make it through.

On a side note, what’s up with there being soccer moms and 8 year olds at a Green Day concert? Back in the 90’s, Green Day was an in your face punk rock band. Since then, I guess they’ve really softened up and/or sold out.

The girls that were listening to Green Day in the 90’s probably just turned into soccer moms and and had kids that they now bring to Green Day “shows”. Plus, the fact that they’re playing on Good Morning America says something important.

I’m going to have to say it’s totally weird to bring kids to a Green Day concert.

Totally weird, although growing up Green Day wasn’t exactly what they are now, now it almost seems like kids at a Green Day concert is ok…almost.

    It’s still not for kids.

i liked them when i was like 15. my little sister like them. she was like 9. big deal. aside from their political views, they are like the monkees. good riddance plays at highschool graduations. pick another punk rock band that is as socially acceptable. blink 182? no. sum41? no. mxpx? only cause their christian, they just aren’t as catchy. pop punk is, well, popfluff with small teeth, like gerbils playing powerchords.
