The work of German artist Julia Fullerton-Batten is the kind that makes you do a double take. It’s visually astonishing and awe-inspiring all at once. In this photo set, named Teenage Stories, we see giant women doing various things, from walking the dog, to swimming. Check out all 21 photos in this set.
Mixtape Mondays: Ratatat Remixes Volume I
Well, what do you know…it’s Monday already. Time seems to move so fast. This week in the Mixtape Mondays segment, we have some Ratatat for you guys. More specifically, we have the Ratatat Remixes Volume I. Like the mixtapes prior, this mixtape is nothing new. It came out nearly four years ago, but it’s still great to blast. Ratatat’s sound incorperates electronic influences and is comprised of heavy beats using the synth and organ. Hailing from New York City, Ratatat is comprised of guitarist Mike Stroud and synthesizer driver and producer Evan Mast. They were made famous with the release of their hit singles Seventeen Years and Germany to Germany. Seventeen Years has since been featured in a Hummer Commercial and the movie Cloverfield, among other things. On Ratatat Remixes Volume I, the duo integrates electronica into 14 hip hop tracks, including Kanye West’s Get Em High, G-Unit’s Stunt 101, and Raekwon’s Smith Bros. This is one mixtape album you must download.
Banksy Stirs Up Some Controversy on his Trip to New Orleans and Alabama
Bansky, the legendary street graffiti artist, has struck again. This time, it’s west of the Atlantic ocean. Banksy’s unmistakable methodology and style has been sighted in New Orleans, as well as rural Alabama. His New Orleans pieces surfaced last week, while his hanging Ku Klux Klan member piece was sighted just a few days ago. His Ku Klux Klan piece was just taken down earlier today. What a shame. Pics after the jump.
Boston Man Converts 3,038 Photos Over 3 Days into a Video
This is probably one of the most interesting ideas that I’ve seen in a short while. Basically, a man by the name of Robbie snapped over 3,000 pictures on his Canon 5D SLR of his life in Boston over 3 days. This includes his rides on the T, visits work and school, etc. After that was all done, he converted the pictures into a short film by playing them rapidly in the order they were taken. This is what he got. The music is “Dry Lips” by Lightspeed Champion.
Mixtape Mondays: Lil Wayne's Lil Weezyana
This is one of my favorite mixtapes of all time. Originally released in 2006, Lil Weezyana is a classic, must-have mixtape that everyone needs to listen to. As usual, Lil Wayne has intense lyrics and an unmistakable flow on every single track. My favorite songs on the mixtape are David Banner (track 3), I Like Dat (track 12), and Pimp C (track 17). On Downtown (track 20) Lil Weezy mixes it up with _1000 Miles _by Vanessa Carlton. It makes for an awesome clash. Check it out.
