Here’s a fresh stencil graffiti piece by ABOVE). It features none other than a greedy AIG executive doing what he does best — cheating & stealing. This is one of my personal favorites — I love the triumphant expression on his chubby face. Be sure to watch the video below. Have a great Easter Sunday everyone!
All Grown Up - Jetcomx Turns 1 Year Old

I can’t believe it, but 1 year ago today, Jetcomx as we know it was born. Back then, the site was more plain than vanilla ice-cream…in a cup. We were lucky to get 70 unique visitors in a week. We’ve definitely come a long way since that first post of ours. In the time since then, we’ve been featured on Digg’s front page a few times, migrated to 3 different servers, gave away some free gear, interviewed up and coming artists, picked up some new writers, and much, much more. Who knows what the next 365 days will bring?
Johannesburg and the 100 Trillion Dollar Ad Campaign
Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past couple of months or inside a deprivation chamber in prepartation for a mission to Mars, you’re well aware that the state of the world economy has turned to complete shit. One of the nations that is feeling the burn much worse than we are is Zimbabwe. The African nation is currently undergoing what is known as hyperinflation, which basically means that prices are rapidly increasing as the value of the currency is rapidly decreasing. Six months ago, the inflation rate was calculated to be at a staggering 516 quintillion percent or 516,000,000,000,000,000,000%. Zimbabwe’s currency has since been pronounced dead.
Earlier this week, the newspaper known as The Zimbabwean created one of the most unique and eye-catching guerrilla ad campaigns. In order to spread the word about the current dire conditions in Zimbabwe, they created posters, flyers, billboards, and murals made from Zimbabwean notes. They chose to display their works in downtown Johannesburg, South Africa.
Throwback Thursdays: The Old Pollution
The certainty of death and taxes accepts a new recruit this week: the certainty of a college freshman breaking up with her long-distance boyfriend.
_I should have seen it coming. _So goes the refrain of the dumped, in this case my 21 year-old self living in a basement apartment in Buffalo, NY. We met at summer camp—of course—and she was 18 and loping through her final summer before leaving town for the ivy-shrouded confines of Cornell.
What was I doing that fall? Working at a boxing gym and finishing college part-time at University of Buffalo. I played it light and breezy that summer, knowing I had enough older guy-clout to act cooler than I normally would. She was nervous about school and I assured her everything would be fine. Better than fine. I assured her it would be awesome because she was going to Cornell. My entire family had gone to Cornell but I’d been turned down back in the day. Cornell still held the allure of unrequited love, a final shred of high school longing.
She wasn’t so bad either. There was no love between us (though she may have said _I love you _and I may have whispered it back, knowing I wasn’t telling the truth even if it felt true). Love was unnecessary. Summer flings don’t need love. They need to remain light, breezy, and inequitable, so they can end horribly—which they must—and so they can become nostalgic even before the end.
The Beastie Boys feat. Cypress Hill and DJ Hurricane Perform "So What'cha Want" on the Arsenio Hall Show
Talk about a throwback…this wonderful piece of footage dates all the way back to 1992, when the Beastie Boys released their second album, Check Your Head. They made an appearance on the Arsenio Hall Show with fellow rappers DJ Hurricane and Cypress Hill’s Sen Dog. Check out the awesome outfit that Arsenio is rockin’…who else could manage to pull off a purple suit with black racing stripes on the arms, a satin vest, and a baseball hat? MCA’s hair is pretty sweet as well. Take a look at this gem:
